What to Do After PERM Certification: Next Steps to Your Green Card

You're Certified — now what?

A Certified PERM is the first milestone. Next comes the I-140 immigrant petition, then either I-485 adjustment of status or consular processing.

The typical sequence

1. File I-140 within the PERM validity window
2. Wait for your priority date to be current
3. File I-485 or go through consular processing
